Healthy snacks should be characterized by having a little balance of proteins and fats, crackers, some fats, high fiber bread, nuts or fresh vegetables and fruits and some carbohydrates. A lot of consumption of snacks will lead to too much calories for the body. With the right habits of eating snacks they can be of great importance to the body and some of which will be discussed below.
The first and most considerable factor to have in mind is the nutrition need that our bodies may require. Snacks can be used to complement our nutrition needs that we may miss or find hard to find in our main meals. Although it is not wrong to have less nutritious snacks from time to time it should be the consideration when choosing most of our snacks often. Healthy snacks should also have consistent amount of sugars. This is a vital consideration for people with diabetics as well as those without since they help to keep their body sugar levels consistent.
Effects of eating a lot of snacks can be obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease and type 2 diabetes. The right time to eat snacks is between meals and in any case one should avoid overeating nibbles. To avoid being hungry constantly nuts and some fruits such as an avocado are recommended. Snacks should not be eaten just before a meal is served, you should feed on snacks at least an hour before meals such as lunch and super.
